The Trap

We've been taught our entire lives that we're supposed to go to school, college and get a job. Nobody told us about student loans and how we'd spend the rest of our lives paying them back. They also never told us that our jobs would be mediocre at best and that this way of life is making some else happy and rich. Sure they told us we can be whatever we want but whatever we want is actually what they want. Lawyers, doctors, teachers and firefighters. You can play sports but making a good to great living playing ball isn't realistic. You might have dreams outside of all those things but we're never shown the way to reach those dreams so you end up settling for a 9-5, 10-6 or overnight job and you become a statistic. The workplace is really where dreams go to die. You get comfortable making a few pennies and before you know it you'll have a "Thank you for your 20 years of dedicated service" plaque on your wall. Yeah you've made it. But Soulja Boy and Drake aren't on the remix. I'm here to tell you my friends that you have not made it. If that's what you aspire to be then by all means be great but if your dreams still got life left in them it's not too late to revisit them and put a plan of action together. The biggest trap for dreamers is a job. You spend so much time working for somebody else you lose sight of what you want. This trap can be extremely hard or damn near impossible to get out of. You have to decide how bad you want it and what you're willing to do. That 9-5 is the only thing standing between you and your dreams. You're spending valuable time building somebody else's dream when you can be building yours. You gotta go chase your dreams if they're that important because you don't want to have any regrets about not going hard for what you want. At least you'll have that plaque and some other person who had the guts to go get what they wanted will have their signature at the bottom of it. Don't be scared to step out on faith and make it happen. It's better to have a headache from being a boss than a worker.

W. U. I.

If you never saw me again would you miss me? Am I engraved in your brain like history? Historically speaking tho I have been known to bring about a change in the way you see yourself to make you feel like maybe you were better before I left. Or before you came.. And came again. While I fade away like a shot... with no time on the clock. How could you forget? What you thought when you looked into my eyes. They told you secrets and I'll admit a few lies. But you can't tell the difference when my hand is between your thighs. You can run. But you really don't wanna hide. I'm everywhere you go and everywhere you wanna drive. Driving me crazy with them lips and them hips. Thirsty for your love. All I need is a sip. Tear them clothes right off you all I need is a rip. And all you need is me. There's nothing better than this. And all I need is you because nothing better exists.
