One September morning (after a long night of drinking and strippers in the wonderful city of New Orleans for my cousin's wedding) I got a phone call about a job in Atlanta. I definitely didn't see myself working in bankruptcy but I figured I'd go for the interview. I had already been working at the credit union for over five years, and I was sure my recent mention to the VP of Operations about wanting to become a loan officer didn't even make it to her inner ear. I was living the dream as some would say depending on their circumstances. A young black man working behind the glass with a pretty large amount of money in my hands daily... people really thought I made it.
